summary of the seminar

The seminar which we took yesterday is about crime and surveillance. Crime and privacy are connected by the science and technology. You can notice the sign of CCTV whole around the city, and then you will see a camera is staring at you. Recently the argument about CCTV is a warm issue in UK. In our class, most people think the amount of CCTV in UK is ok but we should not continue to setting more CCTV in public areas. In my opinion, the CCTV is a little bit much but it is not necessary to remove some of them. At the end of the seminar, most people agree with that the biometrics is the most useful way to prevent and beat crime. In my point of veiw, biometrics is much more credible and efficient than to establish the DNA database. What is more, unlike CCTV the biometrics will not break the daily life of people. And it is only can be used to protect people from crime.
